The 1.2 update for Super Mario Maker is now live with some unannounced surprises.
In addition to the new level creation features such as checkpoints, the update has added the Event Courses in Course Maker. The first event courses feature Arino from Game Center CX and Bakarhythm, the star of the Japanese commercials for Super Mario Maker.
In addition, a special stage was added that features a Totem Link, from Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, and unlocks a Mystery Mushroom upon completion.
