The characters, items, stages, and more we want to see in the upcoming Smash Bros. games.
http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/feature/33602
It should be no surprise that the staff here at Nintendo World Report is full of Super Smash Bros. fans. Nintendo’s popular fighter has won a special place in our hearts for throwing some of the biggest Nintendo stars together in a great series of fighting games.
Like many fans of the series, we often dream about what the next Smash Bros. games would be like if they were to include some of our favorite characters, items, stages, and more.
In an effort to share these dreams, we present the Super Smash Bros. Dreams feature. In each update we’ll take a closer look at a character we feel deserves a spot on the Super Smash Bros. roster. There will also be a bonus section where we look at other features, items, and stages we’d like to see added to the upcoming games.
To browse our current Smash Bros. Dreams, just use the table of contents located on the right side of this page. More will be added on a near-weekly basis, so be sure to check back here soon. Additionally, feel free to drop a comment below if there is a certain character you’d like to see us discuss, and maybe they will make it into our Super Smash Bros. Dreams.
I wonder who the obscure character is going to be this time. Mike Jones from StarTropics?Since the StarTropics games were never released in Japan, I doubt Mike Jones will ever appear in a Smash Brothers game, at least as long as Sakurai is around. I believe he's in charge of the roster and tends to pick his own personal faves, so he wouldn't pick a character from a game never released in his region. This is similar to why Nester will never be in the game either, since the magazine he's from is US. None of the Smash games even acknowledge that StarTropics exists.
Moving stages are great, they are better and make things more fun.the dog wouldn't be so bad if it did more then one thing
Assist Trophies are also great, I hope they include more of them since they were pretty good (except for the damn Nintendog blocking 80% of the screen).
The game has a combo counter in Practice Mode
Part of the fun in the game is that it is relatively simple. I hate how most fighting games cater to the small niche of fans who go to tournaments and think that moves need to have 8 inputs to do

This probably isn't the forum in which to say this, but I feel I must.Heretic! ;)
Smash Bros has never been anything more than fan service to me. From a gameplay perspective, I actually don't really like Smash Bros.
I'm not sure about Little Mac. I don't think there are any new Punch Out games on the horizon. I'm also not sure if he'd have a compelling moveset. He punches, that's about it. I think the Assist Trophy pretty much covered it.
Also not sure about Dixie. I was frankly pretty surprised they went with Diddy in Brawl, but now that DKCR exists it makes more sense. I really don't see Dixie Kong or K Rool appearing in a game again, though. I'd wager that Nintendo would like to keep as far away from the Rare-originated elements as possible, excepting Diddy and Rambi.
I think Dixie and Mac have extremely high chances of making it in.dixie just wind up being a clone of diddy

no more clones...(and magic is right, nintendo seems to be trying to get rid of most of the DK crew outside of Diddy and Cranky with returns..)
but for the love of god
give ganon his sword
get rid of this whole toon link/young link thing
and for the love of god do something about the star fox trio
i'll take luigi because he has been almost completely luigified outside of the fireball
as for little mac, there is a fair problem believe it or not because alot of characters have their movesets based around their games as much as possible(one of mario's throws is based on the bowser battle in 64(if used on bowser he even does a reinactment)) and little mac has had little more then left punch, right punch left uppercut, right uppercut... like i said all they can do is give falcon another clone(NO!!)
Ganondorf is the only real exception to this outside of his final smash
i haven't played enough f-zero to know about captain falcon tbh
I'm still trying to imagine what kind of moveset the Slime would have. Admittedly, I'm not terribly familiar with Dragon Quest series. I've watched some video and there's a dearth of physical attacks. It'd be like trying to make a Goomba an entire selectable character. Not saying it can't be done, just that I'm having a hard seeing it.
Zelda still has appendages to perform kicks and swipes and can transform into Sheik who is almost entirely physical attacks. Would a Slime just hop around and shoot magic at you?
I had a dream where I killed every Smash Bros fan. It was very sexual
Who did he use and on what stage?I had a dream where I killed every Smash Bros fan. It was very sexual
Did you use any items when you were killing them? If so, you and your casual homicidal ways sicken me.

Yeah you have absolutely no imagination nor an understanding of why clones and semi clones are the way they are. It's simply because of body type. Dixie's hair alone makes her stand out completely from any other character and thats what Sakurai loves. She basically has a giant blond arm on her head, it will not function exactly like Diddy's tail I guarantee you.
While I don't like how similar the specials are of the star Fox crew are, their smash attacks and basic animations are completely different. It's nothing like it was in Melee where they were literally reskins with different stats. I'm not saying there is no room for improvement because there is, but they are plenty varied and I imagine it will be taken a little further in the next game.
Slime - Dragon Quest is basically a Nintendo franchise at this point with all the games exclusive to Nintendo systems and Nintendo publishing them in the West. The Slime may be the most iconic character, but I don't think it's the most popular. The cast from DQVIII is pretty popular, but, that game wasn't released on a Nintendo system (yet...) so it won't be one of them. I could see them picking one of the classes from DQIX, which is the most popular DQ game. I also wouldn't be surprised if they chose a character/class from DQX, to raise awareness for that game.
I didn't say he wasn't aware, I said he has no attachment to the series.Since the StarTropics games were never released in Japan, I doubt Mike Jones will ever appear in a Smash Brothers game, at least as long as Sakurai is around. However, I do recall about a year ago Sakurai saying something like he wanted to bring back more older/forgotten characters.like tingle...
I still don't see why that matters. Being released in Japan doesn't automatically mean Sakurai has an attachment to a particular series. As I said, StarTropics hasn't yet been acknowledged by any Smash Brothers game, which I think means it never will be in any way. I don't know the actual process of how characters are picked, it was just my impression from Brawl's odd choices of newcomers.

The only thing which I'd say gives Mike Jones a chance is that he would be a good clone of Ness to replace Lucas, which would make him an easier character to add to the game.
no more clones...
I had a dream where I killed every Smash Bros fan. It was very sexualFucking gross. Seek emotional help.
Am I the only one who wants Ghirahim to be in this game?GOD NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think his chances are too great but who knows? Our first peek at the game is so close!
Paper Mario is part of the Mario series, just like Mario & Luigi is, Mario Kart is, etc. It's part of the Mario franchise. I love the first two Paper Mario games, but I dont want a 3rd version of Mario (after Dr. Mario). Maybe he could be an alternate costume for Mario?
I can't be the only one who's hoping for some 3DS eShop-exclusive characters for that version... you've got Mallo, the Sakura Samurai, Dillon, Tempo, a Denpa Man, heck Suda might be willing to give up the president from Liberation Maiden.
Maybe it's just me, but many of those series haven't yet proven themselves sufficiently to warrant inclusion in Smash Bros. The only exceptions for me might be Mallo and Eddy (from Spin cycle), but I think they might be better suited to assist trophies rather than joining the roster.
If you're going by proof of existence, you're tossing Ness, Marth and Roy out of Melee and Lucas out of Brawl.
...there are better choices, like Sheriff or Mike Jones...Quit making my heart go aflutter. Shame on you. :P
I'm a fan of games that let you choose multiple costumes for the same character as opposed to the extra lame palette swap. For instance, there was no Wario in the last super smash bros, but there was a palette swap which aproximated Mario as wario. In that case it was ok, i would really like to see some characters look radically different with different costume changes.

My biggest hope is that they somehow use the Wii Pad to an awesome degree.
Like four people playing while someone on the WiiPad is just toying with everyone. Freezing peoples feet so they can't move, sending gusts of wind so they can't recover, shooting fireballs from the sky, swatting items away that people really want, etc. etc.
Since that would piss-off the snobs that like to compete in tournaments (you know, the ones who don't like items, prefer fighting only on flat stages like Final Destination, etc.), I approve and want it.
Building on what Stogi recommended, what if Nintendo were to utilise the Gamepad to bring back one of the most beloved features of Brawl? What if the sole purpose of the Gamepad in Smash Bros 4 is to make characters slip? What if, with a deft stroke of your finger across the touch screen, you could make one of the characters on screen fall flat on their ass? Everyone would love that, right?! RIGHT!?(http://i.imgur.com/3ODKr66.gif)
I say @#$% tourney***s, if you have to take out half of the game to make it competitively viable then I think that should beg the question, are they even playing the same game anymore. It's not like they're modding the game to play it that way. They're just shutting off options which the development team put into the game so people can enjoy the game whatever way they want to. Some people like things turned up and on, some don't. Who cares? Anyone who legitimately gets upset over this on either side needs to calm their **** down.

AHH.. yes mewtwo ... known as the strongest pokemon created .. and he is ... the common shadow ball attack ... the ability to teleport without getting hurt ... but at the age of brawl HE WAS FORGOTTEN.. but now he is being revived to battle the strongest foe ever .. genesect ... but mewtwo is different .... now all i wish is for mewtwo to come in the next ssb series ... and the only way for this to happen is if everyone wants and asks nintendo to bring him in the next ssb game with both forms ... so don't forget the times mewtwo amazed you in movie's and shows ... but also don't forget his power his speed .... and most of all ..... his history!

People generally don't want an emphasis on story considering how poorly it was handled in Brawl.I want an emphasis on story considering how amazingly it was handled in Kid Icarus Uprising.
Some of the characters are on a bus on the way to the stadium. Samus is there. Donkey Kong is there and Snake is watching the bus from afar." It was like that. (laughs) I had envisioned a more serious tone for the story. Something with some misfortune like a single character escaping total annihilation of his squadron and then fighting back while rounding up his allies. Ultimately, we worked together and successfully organized our ideas into the storyline for The Subspace Emissary.I'm not claiming that Nojima's original idea would have been great. Who knows? Maybe it would have been incomprehensibly silly. Regardless of who pens the story, it depends on what they're trying to do with it.
With Wii Fit Trainer becoming a character in Smash Bros, and the recent news that the plane from Aero Porter was voted as the people's favourite Level 5 character, I've been thinking alot today about what constitutes a 'video game character' and to what lengths Sakurai might go to surprise us with his roster choices.Sega already did it all decades ago adding that car into one their fighting games.
I don't want Mewtwo in this game even at all. Maybe in a poke ball? I guess. But as far as playable pokemon. I don't want Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and if the pokemon trainer comes back, squritle, ivysaur and charizard. That is WAAAAAAY too many Gen. 1 pokemon... I want to see some new guys. Like how Lucario was. but I want to see different pokemon! I'm pretty sure Sakurai wants to best represent every series as good as possible and ONLY having pokemon from the first generation doesn't do pokemon justice at all, theres way too many great pokemon in all different generations to cry over one that was taken out.But 1st gen pokemon are more iconic imo.
I'll just go ahead and say what we're all thinking and point out that all the Pokémon that came out after gen 1 suck.
