Kingdom Hearts 3DS's development is 40 to 50 percent done, said Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura in this week's issue of Famitsu.

The Japanese publication sat down with the series' artist and designer to talk not just about Kingdom Hearts 3DS, but the franchise as a whole. Nomura reiterates that the three Ds in the title stand for "Dream, Drop, Distance." As it have been the case with previous Kingdom Hearts games, Dream Drop Distance will include a secret video that teases the next game in the series.

Gameplay details were vague, with Nomura stating that players would be able to make their way toward roofs, and that the story will drop hints at what may happen in Kingdom Hearts III.

In addition, Nomura commented that the framework for the storyline for Kingdom Hearts III has been created, and that it will mark the end of the Xenahort storyline. If the series continues, the possibility of Sora remaining the main character is likely.
