You can discuss our interview with Morikazu Sano of Buffalo Technology about the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector here.

But now you know that it does work with systems other than Windows XP... like Windows 98!

yay!

(Not that it bothers me - I've got XP).

atleast he tried, i liked it, you are a good interviewerer...by the way,  how does one access that part of the DS? ("then, you need to access your wireless network connection feature in your Nintendo DS. On the Nintendo DS the AOSS button will appear.")

I believe it will be on some sort of menu screen within WiFi-enabled games, though potentially it could be in the DS boot-up menu (the BIOS) after a firmware update.

PGC: Will Buffalo support operating systems other than Windows XP?

MS: Yes, if you use Buffalo wireless routers/access points with AOSS feature to use with Nintendo DS. We support from Windows 98 to XP.

mac users screwed again .

Get a wireless network adapter (for less) and bypass the need for the USB adapter.

seriously... I think I know even LESS after that interview.  I loved the answer to the question of if the drivers must be installed from CD.  Instead of saying yes or no, he says you have to carry your computer with you. =p  Brilliant response.

Wait...I need a Buffalo wireless router to go online with my DS?  I was under the impression that any wireless router would work.

It's if you don't have a wireless router.  An easy solution for those who are afraid of technology.

You have to read more carefully.  BUFFALO will "support" other operating systems (such as OSX) if you use a standard BUFFALO-branded hardware solution (a WiFi AP or router).

Part of the confusion is the language barrier, but you can consider that response to be a friendly way of saying, "You cannot use this product, but we have other AOSS solutions for you."

I'm still confused.  Does Buffalo manufacturer wireless routers?  Or did they just create the software to let other companies' wireless routers talk to my DS?

I run Windows 2K on my computer and I have a D-Link wireless router.  Will I need to purchase the special USB connector and run online games that way, or will my D-Link router work if I install the correct software?

Any router will work with the DS on any OS. The Nintendo brand USB router works with Windows only.

The USB connector is only needed if you don't already have a wireless router in your home.

Thanks for the interview, but we knew the answers to those questions a while ago. When do you think this is, October 2005?

hey read the interview! he says it works with windows 98!

i mean if anybody tells me to upgrade my operating system I will blow up. My hard drive doesnt like xp..i had a chance to install it but it wouldnt let me So i ended up putting 98. Heres the thing, it never crashes!!!! While everyone else is dealing with the obsured level of virii I never get any because their nto targeted at 98.

also, wtf. We all know it. Theres not much differece between what happens i nthe backrounds of an OS. XP is barely anything more than a cosmetic makeover with a few bugs fixed.

one mroe reason to hate MS, another reason to be pissed at Nintendo.

it cost 191 for a damn CD with windows on it, that is so fricking retarted

http://www.buy.com/prod/microsoft-windows-xp-home-with-sp2-full-version/q/loc/105/20361034.html

this is why MS is the devil.

The USB program should support DOS. As should every other program.

Seriouly. Windows is horribly designed, Macs are too expensive, but, DOS? What's bad to say about DOS?

nothing, DOS is great.....if you can type...you can get to programs really really fast. That was before ms was a big evil corperation. Now they are seriously evil.

Mac OSX is a UNIX derivative. Everything is a Unix clone.
