Tennis and Pinball are combined to create a unique experience.
Span Smasher was first revealed at Nintendo's Fall Media Summit last year. Since then, there has been no word on its American localization. Nintendo has finally released new details on the quirky title developed by Artoon.
Span Smasher stars a floating ball with a lot of personality. His paradise home is being threatened, so Span must use his bouncing abilities to destroy barriers.
The game is offered up in stages, each with a goal of collecting pearls. Once three of them are found, players are able to move on to the boss battle of that particular level. Span will also have different abilities and characteristics such as the ability to grow larger and split into different balls. As players scroll through the scenery new obstacles and rewards will appear, making players plan their shots for better advantage of their surroundings. If Span remains motionless for too long he might get eaten by the multi-headed dragon in hot pursuit.
Finally, Span Smasher will make use of the Wii MotionPlus for greater precision in the player’s swing.
Span Smasher still has no release date.
