The Australian media ratings board, the OFLC, has listed Sin and Punishment on its site, giving it an M (Moderate) rating. In other words, the game is going to be released on the Aussie Virtual Console very soon.

Nintendo's head honcho sits down with Newsweek's N'Gai Coral to talk business.
N'Gai Coral, the head of Newsweek's "Level Up" videogame blog, just posted an interview he did with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata way back in July at E3. The two talk about all things Nintendo, including the company's strong focus on the casual gamer, the DS' dominance, and Nintendo's perception in the marketplace (below).

Friday had significant Virtual Console news, but the best is yet to come.
The OFLC, Australia and New Zealand's version of the ESRB, has rated numerous Virtual Console games that have not yet been released. Added to that list on Thursday were two extremely interesting titles, particularly in light of Sin & Punishment coming soon to the Japanese Virtual Console. Though that title has not yet shown up on the list, two others have: Mario's Super Picross and Super Mario Bros. 2 (JPN).

Capcom sets another milestone for its survival-horror masterpiece.
At the same time Capcom announced it would be publishing Wii Love Golf for Camelot, the granddaddy publisher also revealed that it has shipped out 750,000 copies of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition to retailers worldwide. This is an impressive figure, considering that it's only been available for about three months.

Virtual Console news just keeps coming in.
It's been a Virtual Console morning with news trickling in about various releases from around the world. We now have the full picture for The Land of the Rising Sun as Nintendo has updated their Japanese site with a list of September releases. Battle City, Mach Rider, Golden Axe III, Legend of Hero Tonma, and Override all debut next Tuesday, September 4th. The full list of nineteen games is found below.

PAL gamers can download Bonk 3 and Vegas Stakes.

For years, gamers in the States have been rallying for Treasure's N64 shooter, Sin & Punishment, to receive a release in North America. There seemed to be some hope back in February, when George Harrison said that previously Japan-only games might have a chance of crossing over on Virtual Console.

Soon we'll see Bonk 3, Neutopia II, and more.
As usual, Hudson has announced the TurboGrafx-16 lineup for the month in advance. First up in September is Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure, which comes out in Europe and Australia today. It will see an American release on Monday. The final Bonk game on the Turbo platform introduced candies that make players grow to gigantic and miniscule sizes. The game is relatively rare and sells for fairly high prices on eBay, so a VC release is welcome.

Actually playing the game won't be the first thing you do when you put the disc in your Wii.
There are probably plenty of people out there putting Metroid Prime 3: Corruption into their Wii for the first time and noticing a strange message. The first time you go to the disc channel a message will come up asking you to install a system update directly from the disc before playing. Thankfully this update happens very quickly so it won't delay the experience too much.

The high-profile handheld RPG needs some more work done before it is unleashed to Japan.
Square Enix has announced that its highly anticipated Nintendo DS game, Dragon Quest IX, has been delayed in Japan until some time in 2008. Originally scheduled for a late 2007 release in the country, Square Enix explained that it needs more time to improve the game's quality. With this release date push back, it's extremely likely that North America will not see DQIX until next holiday season.
