During Nintendo's GDC presentation on the Wii Menu and WiiWare, there was a short video clip showing off some of the gameplay from LostWinds, Frontier Development's WiiWare launch title. Nintendo requested that no video or photographs be taken during this session in order to protect the sensitive information that the Nintendo higher-ups had allowed to be shown to the attendees at the show. Naturally, we honored its request to keep that sensitive information out of the public view. What we're not going to do is keep this very, very small video clip of LostWinds to ourselves, since Nintendo didn't say anything about keeping other company's (potentially) sensitive information out of the public view.
However, as you'll see in this video clip, there's a problem. The video quality is so poor, the relative size of the video in the frame is so small, the length is so short, and the audio so inaudible, it really doesn't contain any information that you can't find in
our preview of the game. However, just because we're cool and awesome like that, we're letting you see it. All 15 seconds of it. Here it is:
http://files.windyman.net/nwrpublic/lostwinds-x.aviWe're working on trying to get the full, direct-feed version we saw at GDC, but it doesn't seem likely that it'll be available any time soon. But for now, we've at least got something on it.
