Takashi Tezuka gives a brief status update for the game including comments on difficulty.

Nintendo's Takashi Tezuka has briefly spoken about the status of the Wii U Yoshi game, Yarn Yoshi, in a recent interview.

His explanation of why the game was absent this week was that it is not in a state that Nintendo feels is ready to be shown. He also touched upon why Good-Feel was chosen as the developer, stating, "I looked at [Epic Yarn] and thought it was really beautiful. It seemed like it would be a good fit for Yoshi as well. We found that the Wii U would be able to make it a much more expressive game. It looked like it would be a lot of fun."

One other thing that was discussed was difficulty balancing within Nintendo's platforming titles. Tezuka noted that he would like to incorporate more of a challenge in the new Yoshi game if possible.

More challenge in a Yarn game?

With so many platformers coming for the Wii U, Yarn Yoshi needs to distinguish itself.

I'd love to have this game on the 3DS, but with my luck, it'll probably be just the Wii U (and I can't afford one right now). :(
I crochet and have a giant stash of yarn. I'm really excited for this game because I'd love to play with a crocheted Yoshi! ;)

As expected, what we saw months ago was super duper early. Either way I'm glad to know it exists!

Now who was it here that kept insisting to me that the game had been in development for "several years" and that it was almost done, and that it would DEFINITELY be at E3? LOL

But they already showed it! I guess they don't want to show it again until it's complete enough to demo.
