Ars Technica was alerted by a reader that a certain website that is absolutely not safe for work and you'll have to track down through a mysterious link elsewhere, recently made an alteration to its design when a Wii user approaches. I, um, "confirmed" this information with my own Wii, discovering a link that only appears when accessing via Wii.

Not surprising, but...you know...interesting -- has this happened for the PlayStation 3 browser? Guess I better go...find out.

The website specifically mentioned in the Ars Technica blog has always been laid-out that way. They didn't change a thing to make it "Wii-friendly"

Well this is just the last straw!

A thread that starts off talking about porn and then makes some kind of dirty joke at the expense of the pronounciation of the word "Wii". I've never heard of such unruly behavior on a forum. The next thing you know kids will be playing with hula hoops and listening to Pat Boone records what with their ice cream sundays and all that damn roller skatin'....

According to that inteview, they only choose BRD initially because the company they are working with on that specific movie is a Bluray supporter from the start. Now that Sony has dropped the ball in the "supply the demand" depaartment, I wouldn't be surprised to see all of their HDTV-DVD content primarily goto HD-DVD w/ consideration to Bluray afterwards, and not the other way around as mentioned in the interview.

And according to this post(on AVSforums), HD-DVD is the current favorite for the majority of the Porn industy, and its mostly cause of cost of disc and manufacturing.

So maybe attitudes have changed, who knows. We'll find out soon enough, they are all saying that videos are to be released soon, so we'll see which format they goto once they get released.

I wrote an article on this very topic for theWiikly, but they didn't post anything new this week.

Honestly, the fourth thing I thought of doing with the Wii browser was look at porn, and except that it doesn't support enough movie formats, it's pretty darn good at it.  The Wiimote is equal to or greater than a mouse and stuff that looks tiny on a high-res computer monitor looks fine on my old TV set.
