Halloween may be over, but the spooky continues!
I hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween festivities that took place in the world of Animal Crossing, and managed to score all of the rare holiday items you wanted.
But just because the holiday is over doesn't mean we can't enjoy some creepy fun all year round. I'm sure many players (myself included) have taken it upon themselves to build a haunted house in their town. What self-respecting village doesn't have that one creepy, abandoned place off the beaten path, full of old furniture and a few shocking surprises for any curious Dream Suite visitors, right?

Oh, the delightful things you'll see.
Some players have gone the extra mile and fashioned their entire town in the ways of the macabre. These horror towns have been gaining infamy in small cult followings around the internet, and across spooky YouTube channel communities. Many of these are grounded in Japanese horror stereotypes and culture, and several require some Japanese reading ability to fully comprehend the various signs and messages, but the masterful planning, decorative skills and atmospheric eeriness is clearly evident whether you can understand the text or not.

I'll give you three guesses as to what happened here.
I've put together a list of a few particularly creative towns I've visited myself. I'm not going to give much description or post many pictures, as I highly encourage you to check them out yourself. Just be warned, many of these are far more gruesome than anything you'd normally find in the game.
AIKA VILLAGE - 2600 0218 7298 (Japanese)
Possibly the most famous creepy town in the Animal Crossing Dream Suite. Piece together the story of a happy family breakdown and the resulting deaths, told through the eyes of a little girl.
HITOKUI - 2600 1856 4772 (Japanese)
My personal favorite! The name of the village means "cannibalism", and allows you to dress up as a bride or a police officer as you investigate the town. The seemingly quiet burg has a series of houses that appear cheerful and normal on the outside, yet each hides a grisly secret behind the innocent facade. Genuinely disturbing!
VOID - 5800 2261 2914
A decently creepy town with some interesting medieval style decorative spookiness and a mad doctor's laboratory.
KOTORIBAKO - 1100 0907 3801 (Japanese)
The name is a misspelling of "little bird cage", and tells the story of a mother who did something unforgivable... lots of shocking discoveries to be made.
NURSERY - 2000 1259 8879 (Japanese)
Probably the prettiest and most creative town I've ever seen. You never know what to expect here, as each separate room of each house seems to be from a completely different world! Plenty of strange and funny things to see, such as a Gyroid rock concert and a funeral for Tom Nook. Beware the house in the woods...
ANIVILLE - 4800 2398 3734
Explore what appears to be some kind of boarding school or prison camp, and discover what happened to those who tried to escape. Be sure to pack a shovel.

"Koroshite" means "kill me".
Well, that's my list for now. Know of any great other towns worth visiting? Share the Dream Code in the thread below! In the meantime, have a great Halloweekend.
