The Injustice of Wii U continues.

The recently announced Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition won’t be available on the Wii U according to a Warner Bros. press release and later confirmed by game creator Ed Boon.

The game’s Ultimate Edition will include the main game as well as all of the DLC released so far. According to the press release, “the game will be available at a suggested retail price of $59.99 for PS4™ system, PS3™ system and Xbox 360, $49.99 for Windows PC and $39.99 for PS®Vita.”

The Wii U has historically been snubbed by Warner Bros. in regards to Injustice: Gods Among Us, receiving DLC well after other consoles, which would have made this release a welcome addition for the Wii U, but unfortunately it will be left out. No reason was given, but Ed Boon quickly confirmed the lack of Wii U support via his personal Twitter account. When asked if there was a bias against the Wii U, Boon replied “no, and it’s not as simple as that.”

I wish I could say this was a surprise

The very least the douchebags could do would be to release the rest of the DLC for the Wii U version, but it looks like they're too miserable to do even that.

Don't care.

smallsharkbigbiteOctober 08, 2013

I'll be honest I'm a little surprised.  The game and most of the DLC was already released so this had to take little to no effort to pull this port off.

When asked if there was a bias against the Wii U, Boon replied “no, and it’s not as simple as that.”

It really is simple though.  The Wii U is selling poorly and developers don't think they can make money on Wii U versions.  That's really all he had to say.

What does the Ultimate have that you can't get on the Wii U? Is there exclusive DLC characters or something?

Were the Wii U sales that much worse?

WB is REALLY good at saving my money lately.

First of all Injustice has all that Batman fellatio thing going on which is consistent with the rest of DC but still a turn off.

Secondly, game is infested with DLC miasma. The game even actively advertises new DLCs every single time you boot the game.

Thirdly, i already got the game for free on Xbox (thanks, Costa Rica!), and honestly, the actual game is has problems and doesn't live up to the greatness of MK9 in the first place... Story mode (which is the main attraction for me) is ridiculously short doesn't feature even the half of the roster, while Batman gets three chapters all for himself (of course).

Batman Origins has that multiplayer thing going on... Scribblenauts Unlimited in Europe shenanigans...

Why not a 3DS version? I mean the 3DS is becoming the dominent gaming system worldwide, so it would make sense to have your games on the system, right? Then again western third parties are very hands off with the 3DS.

Still doesn't have Supergirl. No sale even if there was a Wii U version. I mean, I get it. She's just smaller, hot blonde Superman, but whatever.

I know, right? "That's it! The Wii U is going to be discontinued next month! Harumph-arumph!"

Except he'd say it with ten paragraphs.

Everything included at the original buy-in price ;)

Ummm... yes. I think they were. But I don't think sales were all that hot for this game to begin with.

Because that would mean that they would have to develop for a Nintendo platform, and no one wants to take that risk even if there is a potential to make money. Waay too risky.

1/10 the sales of Xbox or PS3 sales (5% of the market).  Even if they did make the ultimate edition for Wii U  no store would stock the game considering the original still on store shelves.

Fighters on handhelds really don't sell much, minus SFIV (mostly because it was an launch title that stood out) and you'll have to basically create an whole new game just to get it on the 3ds.

To be fair, I tend to get the ultimate editions but I usually wait for them to hit the bargain bin.

ShyGuyOctober 09, 2013

Okay, somebody grab ymeegod and hold him down. WHERE ARE YOUR SOURCES FOR SALES DATA?

Pixelated PixiesOctober 09, 2013

Sometimes reading Wii U news is the best. It's hysterical how little third parties seem to give a s***.

MetalMario2October 09, 2013

For me, reading Wii U news sometimes makes me want to go take a bath with the toaster.

Pixelated PixiesOctober 09, 2013

Damn you MetalMario2. Now I need to go watch Groundhog Day for the 6,243,962nd time. Thanks a lot jerk!

NeoThunderOctober 10, 2013

It's a vicious circle. No support for WiiU cause of no games. No games cause of little support
